Hi!!! I'm Kristy Hankins and I teach 8th grade math at Smyrna Middle School. I am in my 4th year of teaching and I love every minute of it. In my free time when I am able to find any, I volunteer with the Smyrna Fire Company where I am the Treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary and also a member of the Fire Prevention Committee. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, family, friends, and my dog and cat.
I am currently working towards my masters in Applied Technology in Edutation at Wilmington University. I wanted to get my masters degree in this because the use of technology is becomming more and more important in the classrooms today. I currently have a lot of technology available to me in my classroom such as an interwrite board and pad, an ELMO, an LCD Projector and the use of computer labs. Although I have all of these resourses, I still am not extremely comfortable developing lessons using all of this technology. My goal by completing this masters degree is to become more comfortable using this technology and to be able to produce worthwhile and effective lessons for my students.
